How to reduce baggy eyes.

Quick science lesson: dark circles are actually dilated blood vessels. Because the skin around your eyes is so thin, your blood vessels underneath—when dilated—become visible. Baggy eyes are typically a sign of dehydration. Both are the result of not sleeping enough, having one (or three) too many mojitos, or simply a gift from mom and dad (thanks, genetics). Regardless of where they came from, here’s how to get rid of them.

    Use better ingredients

    Some eye creams are full of sh*t. Others are full of ingredients that actually work, like vitamin A, C, E & K, peptides, and caffeine. Look for those. Or, you know, have us do that work for you.

    Dab, don’t rub

    The skin around your eyes is thinner and more delicate than anywhere else on your body. When applying eye cream, aggressive rubbing will do more damage than good. Dab gently until it’s absorbed.

    Stay hydrated

    Often, baggy eyes and dark circles are a sign of what’s going on inside your body. When you’re dehydrated, your body tries to hang onto water wherever it can—under your eyes is one of its favorite storage areas (hello, eye bags). Put simply, drink more water.
